Marianne Post became a full time professional artist in 2005, after leaving behind a successful career as a designer and illustrator. For over 30 years, Marianne has worked for major corporations and most recently retired from the position of principal artist at the University of California.
Having studied art and design at the University of California, and the San Francisco Academy of Art she holds a B.S. in design. Her professional design background contributes to her keen interest in shapes and the patterns of light and shadow. She displays a masterful and expressive rendering of her subject matter, as she captures light and atmosphere. Her paintings capture the beauty and generosity of nature.
In addition to being a practicing artist, Marianne also teaches pastel techniques and composition at the internationally attended School of Light and Color in Fair Oaks, CA. Her award winning work has been juried into national exhibitions, is held in public and private collections across the United States, and appears in Capturing Radiant Light & Color in Oils and Soft Pastels, by Susan Sarback, published by North Light Books, 2007.
